Singer AC E3 Error — Indoor Fan Speed Fault & Fix
E3

Quick answer
E3 on a Singer AC means the indoor fan motor is running at an incorrect speed or has stopped. The board detects abnormal RPM or no feedback signal.
What E3 means
The indoor blower fan sends a speed-feedback signal to the control board. When the board detects that the fan is not spinning, spinning too slowly, or not sending any feedback, it raises E3 and stops the compressor to prevent the evaporator from freezing.
Do not keep restarting. Running the compressor without proper indoor airflow will freeze the evaporator coil.
How to fix it
- Power off at the breaker.
- Open the indoor unit panel and inspect the blower wheel (cross-flow fan).
- Try spinning the wheel by hand. It should turn freely. If stiff, dust buildup or seized bearings.
- Clean the blower wheel. Heavy dust creates drag and slows the fan. Remove and wash if possible.
- Check the motor connector on the indoor PCB — reseat firmly.
- Test the motor. If the wheel spins freely but the motor does not start, the motor has failed.
- Check the motor capacitor (non-inverter models). A weak capacitor prevents full-speed operation.
Prevention: Clean your Singer AC filters every 2 weeks. In Dhaka's polluted air, dust builds up fast on the blower wheel — annual deep cleaning prevents E3.
What does the E3 code mean?
E3 indicates the indoor fan motor speed is abnormal — too slow, stopped, or not providing feedback to the control board.
Common causes
- Dust-clogged blower wheel (very common in Dhaka)
- Seized fan motor bearings
- Loose motor connector on the indoor PCB
- Faulty motor capacitor (non-inverter models)
- Burned-out fan motor
- Indoor PCB fan-driver circuit failure

How to fix the E3 error
Inspect blower wheel
Open indoor unit, try spinning by hand.
Clean the blower
Remove dust buildup from the blades.
Reseat motor connector
At the indoor PCB.
Test the motor
If wheel is free but motor silent, replace.
Check capacitor
Non-inverter models — test with multimeter.
Safety first: Always isolate power at the breaker before opening the indoor unit.
Part you may need: Indoor blower fan motor / motor run capacitor
Singer uses both DC brushless (inverter) and AC induction motors. Confirm your model type before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Can dust really stop the fan?
Yes — in Dhaka and Chittagong, pollution causes rapid dust buildup. Regular cleaning prevents E3.
Does Singer warranty cover E3?
If the motor is defective within warranty, yes. Dust damage from lack of cleaning may not be covered.
