How to fix the E231 error
Isolate power
Turn the breaker off.
Find the sensor
The condenser sensor is clipped to the outdoor coil pipe, with a wire running to the outdoor PCB.
Reseat the connector
Unplug and re-plug at the PCB.
Test with a multimeter
Approximately 10 kΩ at 25°C. Replace if open or zero.
Ensure good contact
The sensor probe must be firmly clipped to the pipe.
Safety first: The outdoor coil can be very hot during cooling mode. Let the unit cool before touching the condenser pipes.

Route the replacement sensor wire away from the compressor discharge pipe to avoid heat damage.
