What AE means

Step-by-step fix
- Turn off the water supply at the shut-off valve under the sink.
- Unplug the dishwasher or turn off the circuit breaker.
- Check for visible water. Look under and around the dishwasher for puddles.
- Check the door gasket. Inspect the rubber seal around the door for tears, warping, or food debris preventing a proper seal.
- Check for oversudsing. If you used regular dish soap instead of dishwasher detergent, excessive foam can overflow and reach the base pan. Run 2-3 rinse cycles (with no detergent) to flush it out.
- Check the dishwasher level. An unlevel machine can cause water to slosh over the tub edge and drip into the base. Adjust the front legs.
- Tilt and dry. Carefully tilt the dishwasher slightly backward to drain water from the base pan. Use towels to soak up remaining water. Let it air dry.
