What OE means

Step-by-step fix
- Cancel the cycle and open the door carefully. Scoop out standing water if needed.
- Clean the drain filter. On the tub floor, twist the filter handle counterclockwise and pull up. Remove the coarse filter, fine filter, and mesh cup. Wash all parts under running water — use a brush to remove grease and food particles.
- Check the sump area. With the filter removed, look into the sump (the opening in the tub floor). Remove any visible debris — broken glass, food waste, labels, or utensils that may have fallen through.
- Check the drain hose. Pull the dishwasher forward slightly and inspect the drain hose for kinks. The hose must form a high loop under the countertop (at least 25 cm) before connecting to the sink drain or garbage disposal.
- Check the garbage disposal connection. If your drain hose connects to a garbage disposal, ensure the knockout plug has been removed (common issue on new installations). Also check the disposal for clogs.
- Check the air gap (if installed). Remove the cap and clean any buildup inside.
- Run a test cycle. Start a HEAVY DUTY or NORMAL cycle with no dishes to test drainage.
Prevention: Clean the drain filter after every load (takes 30 seconds) and run a monthly maintenance cycle with vinegar or dishwasher cleaner.

OE indicates the dishwasher cannot drain water from the tub within the expected time. The drainage system is blocked or the pump is faulty.
