What E2 means

The condenser fan is located near the compressor at the bottom-rear of the refrigerator. It blows air across the condenser coils and compressor to remove heat. Without it, the compressor overheats, refrigerant pressure rises, and the fridge stops cooling effectively.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the fridge and pull it away from the wall.
  2. Access the rear-bottom compartment. Remove the rear access panel to see the compressor and condenser fan.
  3. Check for obstructions. Dust balls, food packaging, or debris can jam the fan blade.
  4. Spin the fan by hand. It should turn freely.
  5. Clean the condenser coils. Heavy dust on the coils forces the fan to work harder.
  6. Check the motor connector on the PCB.
  7. Replace the fan motor if it does not spin when powered.
