What F1 means

The fridge sensor measures the temperature in the fresh food compartment. The control board uses this reading to control the compressor and damper. When the sensor fails, the board cannot maintain the set temperature — the fridge may run too cold, too warm, or cycle erratically.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug for 10 minutes. A temporary sensor glitch may clear.
  2. Locate the sensor. Usually near the top-rear of the fridge compartment, clipped to the wall or shelf bracket.
  3. Reseat the connector at the main PCB.
  4. Test with a multimeter. At room temperature (25 degrees C), expect approximately 5-10 kOhm depending on model. Open or zero = replace.
  5. Replace with genuine Haier part.
